6/26/2025 - Update Where Nothing Happened
Hi all
I have not been updating the site much. I've been writing journal entries here and there at work, but I don't want to access Neocities on my work laptop for fear of getting in trouble, so I've been procrastinating posting them. I also went on a little weekend vacation, which took up some time that I normally spend doing nothing. In general, I feel like I don't have much time by myself anymore, and the time I do have by myself, I spend doing nothing.
But anyways, I did post a couple journal entries. I changed the link colors. Please let me know if they are not readable and I will change that, I want my site to be functional. At least for PC users. I am very appreciative of those who have commented on my site, I hope to explore Neocities more and more. It'd be nice to have a guestbox. I need to add some more buttons to the site to make the journal entries more navigatible. It will happen.
6/14/2025 - What I've been up to
So, I spent a long while trying to add the aforementioned quote to this page but no matter how I formatted it it looked ugly so I'm just going to keep things simple for now. Outside of that, I have written a couple more journal entries. I think once I reach 5 entries I am going to add some buttons below the main box to help navigate between entries so there isn't too much text on one page. I don't know. I don't know how to do that.
OH YEAH. I forgot to mention that I think I actually fixed my header problem!! It's still not perfect but I don't think it's nearly as bad as it was. If it does look bad on other computer sizes I am blissfully ignorant, anyways.
Today in particular, I figured out how to add in text links and stuff like that because for some reason whatever I did when formatting the paragraphs just made things break when I added any in-text CSS to the paragraphs. I don't know. I don't know how to explain. My fix forced me to move out of flex formatting for some stuff which I think is bad for responsiveness but whatever. I am lowkey getting good at code I think. Like, better than I thought I would. Like I am remembering how to do things and finding my own fixes sometimes. Anyways...I still need to work on that interests page but I'll get to it soon.
6/7/2025 - A few small changes
Alright, so I went ahead and deleted the little box that was hosting site updates and decided to just host them here in the big box. I also added a link to an actual Journal page for the journal button to take you to. Did I mention that I've posted my first journal entry? Go ahead and read it. I thought about fiddling with the header again to try to get it to keep position but I knew if I started I wouldn't be able to pull myself away and I'd rather just chillax tonight. It is a lazy lazy Saturday. I might also end up adding a little site intro line to the top of this box. We'll see!
Note to self: I also want to try to add a quote to this page sometime soon.
6/6/2025 - I think what I want to do is impossible and
other site updates!
So I cannot for the life of me figure out how to have my header be the same distance from the main box on this page consistently across screen sizes. I promise on my screen it looks really cool - The text "summer knowledge" is resting on the border of the main box. But on other screen sizes that header just ends up anywhere. I've tried flexboxes and stuff and I just can't get it to work. sigh
Beyond that, though, I added this little box to display site updates. I think I'm literally gonna get rid of it though. It's pointless. Instead I'll just link to the site updates on a different page. Yayy.
I'm still trying to figure out site aesthetics. Do I wanna add blinkees? Is that cluttered and aesthetically incohesive? The page feels quite plain right now. We'll see.
6/5/2025 - An exciting site update
I just spent two hours getting the nav buttons on my site just right, only to realize that they look completely fugly not ONLY on mobile browsers, but on any screen that's not exactly the same size as mine (whoopsy!). Also, I feel it apt to note that I am coding this website through neocities itself, which doesn't seem to have an undo button, and also, I am coding it on my shitty laptop that has numerous broken keys, most of which seem essential to coding (ex. ), 0, p, {, }, ', ", >, /), and the back and forth between the keyboard and the scrollpad to get to the ONSCREEN keyboard is getting very tedious. Still, I persevere. I WILL have a really cool website. TRUST
6/3/2025 - Welcome to my page!
I am just getting started with this site. I do not know how to code in html and refuse to do anything but take shortcuts by skimming for whatever very specific issue I am immediately encountering on w3 schools, so this site WILL look bad on mobile. Actually, It'll probably look pretty bad for anyone who is not viewing it on a 14in laptop screen, but.
Anyways...
I hope to use this site as a journal for my interests and to share things I find on the web that I want to write about. I hope to make it very cool and pretty and very very retrooo~. I will write a blog post sometime about why I want my site to be retrooo~. But today is not that day
